We take a different approach. Every review, comparison, and buying guide on this site is built around one question: is this actually worth your money? Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes it’s “only if you need this specific thing.” And sometimes it’s no — even when there’s a commercial relationship involved.
What We Cover
Proper Pigeon focuses on everyday consumer technology across six areas:
- Hardware — laptops, peripherals, monitors, and the devices people actually use daily.
- Software — apps and services worth paying for, and the ones that aren’t.
- Gaming — gear, accessories, and network tools for a better session.
- Connectivity & Privacy — networking, VPNs, and everyday privacy tools explained plainly.
- Comparisons — side-by-side breakdowns when you’re choosing between two or three real options.
- Buying Guides — what actually matters before you spend money, and what’s just marketing.
How We’re Different
We don’t publish “Top 10” lists with no real criteria behind them. Every piece of content explains how we arrived at a recommendation — whether that’s hands-on use, technical documentation, or a structured side-by-side comparison. We also don’t pretend every product has been personally tested. When a review is based on documentation and published specifications rather than hands-on use, we say so.
